10:45 this time (it's getting harder to get out of bed) and we were off with a very steep climb (1,700 to nearly 5,000 feet in 12.6 miles) grateful for the cooler air.  Some excellent stretches of road (As253 - Le332 - Le331).  Fast, wide, good surface, lots of bends, hairpins and sweepers and, most of all, wonderful scenery.   Because, although we didn't know it, the weather was about to deteriorate, this was probably the best ride of the week.

IMG_2041.jpg (170260 bytes) After Guardo we circulated north of the Embalse de Compuerto on the P210 and stopped at this restaurant on the western tip of the Embalse de Cervera. 14:20, 3478 ft 77.9 °F, N42.88002 W4.55993.  I left the GPS running and the thermistor on.  The engine heat brought the temperature up to 100.2 °F after 5 minutes.  After an hour it had steadied up at 86.2 °F with the bike parked in the sun (but the thermistor in the shade of the fairing).  It was hot.  It must have been the heat that caused me to ask for un litro de agua sin plomo - duhhhh.  Not too much sea-food, Daryl only had to endure the grilled octopus (which he confessed to liking)

IMG_2046.jpg (101612 bytes) Another photo opportunity,  "back a bit, Neil, just a bit more."  And then the descent to Potes.  As we descended below 1,000 feet the temperature climbed to the mid nineties, whew.

The meal at Fuente Dé was a great disappointment.  They had obviously overbooked in the restaurant and were trying to get two sittings in and were rushing us so much that the main courses came before we had finished the starter.  When the waitress tried to clear our main course plates before we had finished these I blew my top.  I was not impressed.  This is a shame because it is a wonderful setting.
