At 10:47 we were on our way, first for fuel and then up the C 615. This is pretty boring and straight for 35 miles

But as you travel along it (C615) towards Guardo the Picos Mountains begin to get larger. |

Then at Velilla del Río Carrión you fork right and take the P210 which runs along the northern edge of the Camporredondo Reservoir. |

There were places I could pull in and stop to wait for Susie to catch up. |

She was slowed down by our intrepid photographer (Tim) who |
 |
wanted to take pictures of every stretch of water with a mountain behind it. |
 |
Or me with a mountain behind. (You've got to give the lad marks for artistic merit) |

The trouble with this route was there was plenty of opportunity to let your eyes wander and forget about the corner looming |
 |
especially where the usual repair of tar and gravel had been applied. |
 |
We arrived at the Parador de Cervera de Pisuerga at 13:37, in time for lunch as the Spanish have lunch at anytime after 14:00. The view from our room was astounding. |
 |
But darker clouds appeared that evening. |
 |
The room was very spacious and well furnished and even had a shelf (mid-right) almost designed for a helmet! |
