At 10:47 we were on our way, first for fuel and then up the C 615.  This is pretty boring and straight for 35 miles

3picosfromsouth.jpg (17337 bytes) But as you travel along it (C615) towards Guardo the Picos Mountains begin to get larger.

h03-3.jpg (32784 bytes) The trouble with this route was there was plenty of opportunity to let your eyes wander and forget about the corner looming
h03-4.jpg (37460 bytes) especially where the usual repair of tar and gravel had been applied.
Parador_deCerveradePisuergaView.jpg (44388 bytes) We arrived at the Parador de Cervera de Pisuerga at 13:37, in time for lunch as the Spanish have lunch at anytime after 14:00.  The view from our room was astounding.

Parador_deCerveradePisuergaroom.jpg (44471 bytes) The room was very spacious and well furnished and even had a shelf (mid-right) almost designed for a helmet!
