Day 1 - Santander to Selores, Cantabria - 40.6 miles
Disembarkation was easy and I was off before Susie. I waited just before the immigration point at the exit until Susie joined me at 12:52 (GMT +2). Trying to keep bike and car together was a problem and I had to pull in a couple of times to wait for Susie to catch up

Again navigation was by GPS Garmin GPS V and the Garmin MapSource program. But...they are building roads faster than the mappers can keep up with and there are many more roundabouts and link roads than the map database shows.
Susie had emphatically expressed a preference for avoiding the motorways at the start of her first attempt at driving on the wrong side of the road so we took the slow road to Torrelavega.
At 13:45 we negotiated Torrelavega and at 14:24 we were within a mile of our hotel so I suggested a detour up the C-6314 to show Tim the viewing point at N43.23206 W4.30837.

By 15:00 we were at the Camino Real hotel where we stayed on our last night on the previous year. |
