Icom IC-F22SR PMR 446 Transceiver with AutocomI was not desperately impressed with the solution Autocom supply for providing power to the Icom via the Autocom unit as it a) precludes easy exchange for a battery pack and b) left the back of the unit exposed. I therefore cobbled together this solution.
It is worth noting that the Icom will, out of the box, supposedly communicate with the Kenwood TX-3101 on channels 1 and 3 as supplied by Autocom. However, I did not find this when I tried it with a friend's Kenwood. You should also note that the CTCSS channel numbers given in the Icom manual do not correspond with the EIA/TIA standard. There is a difference of 2. Icom CTCSS 10 equals EIA/TIA CTCSS 8. This PDF shows the channel numbers, frequencies, tones for both the Icom and Kenwood. PMR 446 Links - click icon in margin.
